NAGOYA, Mar. 23, 2011 (Kyodo News International) -- Toyota Motor Corp. (NYSE:TM) will delay the sale of new minivan and wagon versions of the Prius hybrid planned for late April until a yet-to-be-decided date due to the recent massive quake disrupting its parts procurement, company officials said Wednesday.
The decision was made because assembly work at Toyota car plants remains suspended as the supply chain for necessary components has been disrupted by the magnitude 9.0 quake and tsunami that devastated areas centering on northeastern Japan on March 11, the officials said.
