DECT Forum Announces Innovative Wireless Applications Targeting New

Markets

Jan. 26, 2011 (Business Wire) -- The DECT Forum, the international association of the wireless home and enterprise communication industry, is pleased to announce the availability of a new White Paper about DECT Ultra Low Energy (ULE) at the DECT World & CAT-iq Conference 2011.

The DECT ULE White Paper addresses how innovative wireless applications based on DECT ULE can be a means to target new markets. DECT ULE is a Local Area Network (LAN) technology that is ideal for low power applications within 300 meter range and can provide sustained longevity for battery powered consumer equipment such as burglar alarms, security cameras, etc.

DECT ULE builds upon the mature technology which inherits all the advantages of DECT such as worldwide interference free spectrum, proven range, simple plug and play connections, proven range and all the benefits of an existing eco-system of multiple solution vendors

„The ULE applications are of relevance to not only current vendors already in the DECT business, but any vendor who can address their own market segments such as home automation, tele-health or smart metering with the DECT technology“, says Dan Hermansen, Chairman ULE Working Group within the DECT Forum.

„A key trend in telecom industry today is the merging of (tele)communications with info-communications. IP Connectivity plays a major role here and CAT-iq, the next generation of DECT, has enabled DECT to cater to this market trend“, says Erich Kamperschroer, Chairman of the DECT Forum.

The White Paper DECT ULE is available for download from the DECT Forum website.
