BEIJING, Jan. 13, 2011 (Xinhua News Agency) -- CNOOC Ltd. (NYSE:CEO) (CEO.NYSE; 0883.HK), China's offshore oil producer, said on January 13 it plans to issue 10-year and 30-year international bonds to institutional investors for general corporate purposes.

CNOOC said it hired Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) Merrill Lynch, Barclays (NYSE:BCS) Bank PLC, BOCI International Holdings Ltd., Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) , Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (NYSE:GS) and JPMorgan Chase (NYSE:JPM) & Co. as joint bookrunners of the proposed issue, but it failed to release other details of the issue.

In addition, the company is planning a roadshow in Asia, Europe and the U.S., which will begin in Hong Kong Friday and move to Singapore Monday, London Tuesday and Boston Wednesday before ending in New York City on January 20, said a person familiar with the issue.
