: Western Region-I recorded a comfortable 29-run win over Northern Region-I in the final of the Power Grid Corporation inter-region cricket tournament here.

Special prizes: Adarsh (Corporate Centre) - best fielder; Gunjan Gagan (ER-1) - best bowler; K. Srihari (NR-II) - best batsman; Manoj Gokru - best all-rounder; Atul Khodke (WR-I) - Player of the tournament.

The scores: WR-I 127 (Shri Srinivas 31, Atul Khodke 30, Satyendra three for 21) bt NR-I 98 (Atul Khodke three for 14) .

Inter-college tournaments

Osmania University inter-college tennis tournament for men will be held at RRC Grounds here from November 26.

The teams are to report to Dr. B. Somalingam, organising secretary, at the venue. It is also informed that the OU inter-college hockey tournament will commence from November 27 at Gymkhana Grounds. The teams are to report at the venue to Dr. Balreddy, organising secretary.

Army Red triumphs

Army Red emerged champion in the Kasala Ramaswamy & Lakshmidevi invitation prize money volleyball tournament at Audiahnagar Playground here.

In the last league match late on Sunday night, Army Green defeated Army Red 25-22, 25-16, 25-23.

The winner was given Rs. 25,000 as cash prize with second-placed Army Green given Rs. 15,000 and third-placed Railway Police Special Force Rs. 10,000.
