SHANGHAI, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) 篓C The shanghai-based steelmaker Bao shan Iron and Steel (Baosteel, 600019.SH), has inked a contract for su pplying hot rolled plate to the China National Offshore Oil Corporatio n, said Baosteel on Tuesday.

It is the first major project since the establishment of a strat egic partnership between Baosteel and China National Offshore Oil Corp (NYSE:CEO) oration (CNOOC) in the end of last year.

Baosteel will supply 5,500 metric tons (tonnes) hot rolled plate

for CNOOC's second-phase oil storage tanks project at Huizhou in sout h China's Guangdong province.

The Huizhou project is CNOOC's largest oil refinery base in Chin a and is able to process 12 million tonnes crude oil annually. Baostee l provided the steel products for the construction of the 8 storage ta nks completed in the project's first phase.
