"According to preliminary plans, an Iranian representative may meet with one of the members of the group," Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Friday in New York, RIA Novosti reported.

Negotiations between Iran and the so-called Iran Six came to a halt in 2009 after an International Atomic Energy Agency resolution condemned the Islamic Republic over the construction of a second uranium enrichment facility.

The U.N. Security Council passed a resolution in June placing a fourth set of sanctions on Iran for its nuclear program, RIA Novosti said.
