Tongrentang becomes GBW's exclusive dealer in Chinese mainland

BEIJING, Sep. 23, 2010 (Xinhua News Agency) -- Beijing Tongrentang Health Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (600085.SH), a subsidiary of Beijing Tongrentang, a leading traditional Chinese medicine company, has recently become the exclusive dealer in the Chinese mainland for the Ginseng Board of Wisconsin Inc (GBW).

The company will be in charge of GBW's ginseng sales and promotion in the Chinese mainland. TRT has signed a five-year contract to buy ginseng from Wisconsin, which produces 90 percent of the herb in the United States.

Yu Jun, general manager of Tongrentang Health Pharmaceitical, noted that it is the first time for his company to carry out transnational strategic cooperation with GBW. The two parties will co-launch "president" brand ginseng products with 66 specifications in the Chinese mainland, with all the ginseng components sourced from Wisconsin.

Beijing Tongrentang (TRT), a 340-year-old traditional Chinese medicine pharmaceutical company, has established at least 38 outlets in Australia, Britain, Japan, the Republic of Korea and some Southeast Asian countries. (Edited by Sun Huanjie, sunhj@xinhua.org)
