Myers tossed seven scoreless frames, scattering six hits and a walk. He struck out five while extending his major-league record run of 31 starts of at least six innings pitched to begin a season.

Chris Johnson homered, doubled and scored twice for the victors.

Trevor Wood (5-4) suffered the loss for Cincinnati, yielding three runs (two earned) on four hits through six innings.

The Reds' setback left them six games ahead of St. Louis in the National League Central.
