KUNDUZ, Afghanistan -- Eight Taliban militants were killed in Afghanistan's restive northern Kunduz province Saturday morning as a result of airstrike against the militants' hideouts, provincial police chief said.
"A precision airstrike against militants' hideout in Bagh-e- Shirkat area in the vicinity of Kunduz city capital (OOTC:CTCC) of Kunduz province left eight rebels including their commander Mullah Usman dead,"Mohammad Razaq Yaqubi told Xinhua.

TORONTO -- A major protest was staged Friday in Toronto on the eve of the fourth Group of 20 (G20) Summit, as at least 2,000 people took to the streets in the Canadian host city.
The protesters, mostly young people and many appearing to be college students, gathered in a local park around 2 p.m. before starting to march toward the area where the main venue of the G20 summit lies.
Over 100 riot police holding shields blocked the way of the marchers at the intersection of Elms Street and University Avenue, forcing them to change direction at around 6 p.m. (Canada-G20-Protest)

TORONTO -- Russian and British leaders agreed Friday to repair their relations and get over a longstanding dispute over the death of a former Russian agent in London.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and British Prime Minister David Cameron made that pledge when they met for the first time on the sidelines of the G8 Summit and ahead of the Group of 20 (G20) Summit. The talks lasted more than an hour.
The Russia-Britain ties went sour in 2006 after Moscow refused to extradite a Russian man to stand trial in Britain for the death of a former Russian spy who was allegedly killed by a rare radioactive isotope in London. (Canada-UK-Russia)

ISLAMABAD -- At least four persons were killed in a suspected United States drone attack on early Saturday near Miranshah, the main city of North Waziristan tribal area, local TV channels reported.
The drone targeted a house in Mir Ali area, about 30 kilometres east of Miramshah, the private TV DAWN News reported.
According to eyewitnesses, the drone is still hovering over the area. (Pakistan-US-Drone)
