NEW YORK, Jun. 22, 2010 (Kyodo News International) -- Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) said Tuesday it has sold 3 million iPads in 80 days after the launch of the tablet computer.
Sales of the iPad reached 1 million units at the end of April, 2 million units at the end of May and 3 million on June 21, according to the company.
''People are loving iPad as it becomes a part of their daily lives,'' Apple Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs said in a statement.
Apple launched the iPad on April 3 in the United States, and the tablet computer is now available in such countries as France, Germany, Italy and Japan.
