Earnings Scan: BOH, HAL, VMW, TXN, WDC

The earnings calendar for Monday looks busy as many companies reported their results ahead of the opening bell, while some more are scheduled to report their earnings either after the opening bell or after the closing bell. Some notable earners are discussed here.

Bank of Hawaii Corporation (NYSE: BOH) on Monday reported its fourth quarter FY 2011 financial results. For the quarter, the bank reported earnings of $0.85 per diluted share, down from $0.92 per diluted share in the same quarter last fiscal. Net income for the quarter was $39.2 million, compared to net income of $43.3 million in the third quarter of 2011 and $40.6 million in the same quarter last year. Net interest income for the quarter marginally declined to $96.24 million, from$96.27 million in the comparable quarter last year. BOH last closed at $47.72 a share on Friday.

Halliburton Company (NYSE: HAL) on Monday reported its fourth quarter FY 2011 financial results ahead of the opening bell. The company reported revenues of $7.1 billion for the quarter, compared to $6.5 billion in the third quarter FY 2011 and $5.16 billion in the fourth quarter FY 2010. Halliburton reported a net income of $907 million, or $0.98 per diluted share for the fourth quarter 2011, compared to net income of $605 million, or $0.67 per diluted share in the same quarter last year. For full year, the company reported revenues of $24.8 billion. Net income for the year was $2.84 billion, or $3.08 per diluted share, compared to net income of $1.83 billion, or $2.02 per diluted share for fiscal 2010. HAL is trading higher by 0.83 percent to $36.50 in the pre-market trading today.

VMware Inc. (NYSE: VMW), global leader in virtualization and cloud infrastructure, is scheduled to report its fourth quarter and full year 2011 financial results after the closing bell today. Analysts at Wall Street expect VMware to report earnings of $0.60 per share on revenue of $1.05 billion. VMW last closed at $88.12 a share.

Texas Instruments Inc. (NYSE: TXN) is scheduled to report its fourth quarter FY 2011 financial results after the closing bell on Monday. Analysts at Wall Street expect the company to report earnings of $0.39 per share on revenue of $3.25 billion for the quarter. TXN last closed at $33.64 a share, down 0.53 percent on Friday.

Western Digital Corporation (NYSE: WDC) is scheduled to report its second quarter FY 2012 financial results after the closing bell on Monday. Analysts at Wall Street expect the company to report earnings of $0.71 per share on revenue of $1.84 billion for the quarter. WDC last closed at $34.65 a share.
