As the US market traded in green, several companies declared their future dividend plans. Some notable dividend payers are discussed here.


Accenture Plc (NYSE: ACN), a leading management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, declared a semi-annual dividend of 67.5 cents per share, up 50 percent from the dividend announced in March 2011. Shares added 3.86 percent or $2.07 to trade at $55.72.


TE Connectivity Ltd. (NYSE: TEL), a leading electric and gas utility company, recommended a 17 percent increase in its quarterly dividend to 21 cents a share. The boost would cost about $13 million each payout, based on the company's number of shares outstanding as of July 18, 2011. Shares gained 0.42 percent or 12 cents to trade at $28.89.


PetSmart, Inc. (Nasdaq: PETM), the largest specialty pet retailer of services and solutions for the lifetime needs of pets, declared a quarterly common stock cash dividend of 14 cents per share. The dividend is payable November 11, 2021 to shareholders of record on October 28, 2011. Shares added 0.02 percent or 1 cent to trade at $44.26.


McCormick & Co. Inc. (NYSE: MKC), a global leader in flavor,  today declared a quarterly dividend of 28 cents per share on its common stocks payable October 24, 2011, to shareholders of record on October 10, 2011. This is the 87th year of consecutive dividend payments by the Company. Shares slipped 2.22 percent or $1.06 to trade at $46.63.


Darden Restaurants Inc. (NYSE: DRI), world's largest company-owned and operated full-service restaurant company, declared a quarterly cash dividend of 43 cents per share on the Company's outstanding common stock. The dividend is payable on November 1, 2021 to shareholders of record on October 11, 2011. Shares slipped 4.04 percent or $1.90 to trade at $45.08.
