Google Inc. (Nasdaq: GOOG) has found itself in the middle of multiple government investigations, as reported by Reuters, citing a source familiar with the matter.

Google is said to be in at least three state attorneys general’s antitrust investigations, according to the sources. However, the sources familiar with the matter declined to elaborate on the details of the investigations by the attorneys general of California, Ohio and New York as they were still in the early stages, Reuters said.

The news emerged on Thursday when the Wall Street Journal reported that the internet search giant is about to receive the civil equivalent of a subpoena from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) as part of a probe into the company's Internet search business.

Google did not comment on the attorneys general investigation, as well as the FTC subpoena.

Shares of Google were trading lower by 0.98 percent to $475.53 on Friday.
