Plane crashes in California parking lot, killing all five passengers

A small twin-engine Cessna bound for John Wayne Airport in Orange County crashed into the parking lot of a Staples office supply store on Sunday killing all five people aboard Orange County fire officials said

The group was on their way to a real estate conference in Orange County from Northern California when witnesses said they saw the plane nosedive before crashing into a vehicle in a shopping center parking lot at about 12:30 p.m.

Knudson said the pilot didn't declare a flight plan and had made a decision to fly under visual flight rules, which isn't uncommon in good, clear weather.

Chilling dashcam footage captures the aircraft free-falling from the sky as shocked onlookers gasp in horror.

The aircraft had departed from northern California earlier in the day and departed Orange County after a stop.

No one on the ground was injured, but an unoccupied auto in the parking lot was extensively damaged.

Trump urges end to Russian Federation probe as Manafort trial enters second day
Trump said the charges against Manafort "have nothing to do with Collusion". The Department of Justice had no comment on Trump's tweets.

An earlier version of this article said that the plane crashed in the parking lot of South Coast Plaza.

The plane went down into the parking lot of a Staples Supercenter, City News Service reported.

The incident reportedly occurred at around 12.30pm on Sunday.

"It was so heartbreaking just seeing the plane crumbled into pieces", one witness told The Los Angeles Times.

FAA records show that the plane was registered to a company based in San Francisco and had flown from the nearby suburb of Concord, according to The Orange County Register.

The FAA arrived on the scene about 4 p.m. and the National Transportation Safety Board representatives were expected this evening, Bommarito said.
