Bob Evans Suspends Partnership Deal With Ohio State Coach Urban Meyer

Ohio Setate coach Urban Meyer watches the NCAA college football team's spring game in Columbus Ohio

No matter what is proven about these allegations against the former wide receiver coach at Ohio State, this much is beyond doubt: Urban Meyer did not commit a crime, he did not witness, nor did he cover up any crimes. There is proof that Meyer's wife knew about it, and it will be hard for Meyer to claim that he did not. "This allows the team to conduct training camp with minimal distraction".

Ryan Day will serve as interim head coach while the investigation is ongoing.

Although there are shades of gray in every situation with such hard subject matter, this much seems clear: Either Meyer was lying last week when he denied his knowledge of the allegations against Smith, or he's created a culture around his program where team employees and even his own wife are unwilling to share such important information with him.

Meyer said the decision to fire Smith was a "very tough call".

Sitting down for an interview published by Stadium on Wednesday, Courtney Smith said, "I do believe [Meyer] knew, and instead he chose to help the abuser and enable the abuser and believe whatever story Zach was telling everybody".

Zimbabwe opposition leader claims he is on course for election win
Chamisa on Monday said there was an attempt to "suppress and frustrate" the vote in urban areas where he has strong support. With 5.6 million registered voters, the results of the presidential, parliamentary and local elections are due by August 4.

The extension also increased Meyer's salary to $7.6m for 2018, an $800,000 raise over what he was scheduled to earn.

At the Big Ten Media Days in Chicago last week, Urban said he knew about the domestic violence allegations against Zach in 2009 but not 2015.

On Thursday night, Ohio State announced it formed an independent board "related to the investigation involving Urban Meyer".

At the minimum, in an age where many colleges and leagues and business owners are preaching "no tolerance", these charges are a truly ugly black eye on The Ohio State University and Meyer.

Meyer told reporters last week that he didn't know anything about the 2015 incident. The Buckeyes had fired Jim Tressel, another national championship-winning coach, before that season for lying to the NCAA and university of about rules violation committed by some of his players. The Smiths separated in June 2015 and divorced in 2016. The allegations stemmed from a 2015 incident.
