Trump urges end to Russian Federation probe as Manafort trial enters second day

President Donald Trump

Last week, The New York Times reported that special counsel Robert Mueller is "is scrutinizing tweets and negative statements from the president about Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the former F.B.I. director James B. Comey".

Trump's tweets comes after the president denied Tuesday there was any "collusion" between his presidential campaign and Russian Federation, and declared that "collusion is not a crime" anyway. "America must never accept it". "He said "should" not "must" and no Presidential order was issued or will be". In June, a report by the Justice Department's Inspector General found that the texts "potentially indicated or created the appearance" of bias, but concluded any anti-Trump bias had no significant impact on decisions in the Clinton email investigation. "Why didn't the government tell me that he was under investigation".

Trump was closely monitoring news coverage of the Manafort proceedings, which provoked the spate of incendiary tweets, according to the two Republicans and two White House officials.

As well, Manafort faces a second trial later this year in D.C., in which the charges he faces include conspiracy against the United States, conspiracy to launder money, failure to register as a foreign agent and obstruction of justice.

The Department of Justice had no comment on Trump's tweets.

Manafort's trial opened on Tuesday with prosecutors accusing him of hiding from U.S. tax authorities millions of dollars from past lobbying work for the pro-Russia president of Ukraine, and failing to report his foreign bank accounts.

Norwood, who wasn't seriously injured, laughed it off after the impact was caught on camera, showing off his scrapes . According to media reports, UAE has ordered arrest and a fine of U.S. $ 500 for these challengers.

Trump's call also did not go unnoticed by the public advocacy group Public Citizen, which issued a reminder that 350,000 Americans have pledged to join almost 1,000 protests across the country, should the president take direct action to end Mueller's investigation. "We'd like to see it come to a close", she said. While Mueller is still gunning for the chance to ask follow up questions in person, Trump's legal team likely will continue to not allow it because they think it will legally expose Trump.

"But I do think it would be a piece of evidence in the obstruction case going back to the firing of Comey because it shows Trump has this intense desire to shut down the Russian Federation investigation", he said.

Conservative writer Max Boot argued in a Washington Post column Wednesday that President Donald Trump's latest attack on the Russian Federation investigation is yet another "smoking gun" among many that demonstrate his criminal culpability.

The American firebrand claimed there has been no collusion between his campaign and Russian Federation and therefore contradicted his own intelligence agencies.

Trump said the charges against Manafort "have nothing to do with Collusion".

Sessions delegated authority over the election investigation after recusing himself to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who in May 2017 appointed Mueller special counsel to the probe.
