White House bars CNN correspondent from open press event

Russian President Vladimir Putin gives a soccer ball to US President Donald Trump during a press conference after their

From local municipal leaders to New Jersey state officials to the President of the United States, it is absolutely vital that we preserve and protect our First Amendment.

The White House on Wednesday barred CNN White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins from an open press event after she asked Trump questions at an Oval Office photo op with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker that the White House deemed inappropriate.

During the BRICS economic summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, Putin said he and Trump had discussed at their meeting last week in Helsinki topics that "concern very many countries around the world and, including, all of Europe", and buttered up his USA counterpart with flattery.

"Sergei Markov, a longtime Putin supporter and former lawmaker for the ruling United Russia party, wrote on social media after the summit that the Russian president had outplayed Trump in Helsinki "by a big margin", but added: ".In doing so he created a problem because he exposed his partner to fierce criticism in the United States".

The White House has not commented on Putin's invitation.

President Donald Trump has met with his national security team to discuss threats to the 2018 congressional midterm elections, and the White House says he made clear his administration will not tolerate foreign interference "from any nation state or other malicious actors". Trump was criticized for his conduct, notably at a news conference in which he appeared to accept Putin's denial of Russian involvement in the election.

Pramila Jayapal, though she did not connect with any of the House Democratic caucus's leadership. In a speech over the weekend, DeSantis attacked Ocasio-Cortez - who is 28 - as a "girl".

"I disagree with it", Scaramucci told anchor Jake Tapper on CNN's "State of the Union". The of those wanted by the Russian law enforces includes U.S. ambassador to the country, Michael McFaul, and financier, Bill Browder, according to Russia's Prosecutor Generals' Office.

"The Summit with Russian Federation was a great success, except with the real enemy of the people, the Fake News Media", Trump said on Twitter.

"We have to proceed not from emotions, but from the real assessment of economic conditions and prospects of its development and (the development of) the social sphere", Putin said.

Trump has also previously accused the media of lying about the size of the crowd at his presidential inauguration.

"In keeping with the spirit of the First Amendment, reporters who cover the White House should be free to do their jobs without the specter of reprisal from the government", he said in a statement.

Trump says U.S. -Russian relations are improving.

. Much of what we know about Russia's interference in the 2016 elections, including the level of Putin's involvement, comes from human sources. For instance, Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats reiterated the USA intelligence community's assessment that Russian Federation interfered in the 2016 elections and recently stated that Russian Federation is continuing efforts to interfere in America's democratic processes.

The idea of Trump allowing the Americans to be interrogated by Russian investigators has been slammed by Trump's opponents in both Democratic and Republican camps in the past few days. The result of the survey showed up online hours after a freewheeling press conference by Trump in which he lambasted journalists for "dishonest" and "biased reporting" and repeatedly accused them of spreading "fake news".
