Shep Smith responds to White House version of ‘disinvite’ of CNN reporter

Fox News viewers are attacking Bret Baier – here’s how he’s responding

The decision was announced by the White House press shop on a day when reporters and correspondents made their way to the building in hopes of getting the president to spout off on simmering issues, from Russian Federation to his longtime lawyer Michael Cohen.

Smith, 54, who said he has worked at Fox for 22 years, noted his colleagues and other journalists "operate in the public interest".

Reporters immediately suspected there might be more to the decision than concern for how the helicopter would perform on a day with mild conditions, blue skies, and limited cloud cover in Washington and the Maryland suburbs.

"CNN maintains", Smith responded, "the Correspondents' Association agrees, and we at Fox News observed, that Collins was civil".

She repeated the question after Trump declined to answer.

Over the Earth shall ascend "blood" Moon
But the night-time transformation of the moon into a bloody-red orb can be seen by anyone on the Earth below while it is night. Additionally, the eclipse will only be visible from Australia as it is beginning and from South America as it is ending.

On Tuesday afternoon, CNN White House reporter Kaitlan Collins was banned from covering a press event in the Rose Garden with Donald Trump and president of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker after she was told that her questions at a meeting between the two earlier that day (where she was representing all television networks as the pool reporter), were "inappropriate". Collins says Shine accused her of shouting and asking "inappropriate" questions during an earlier joint appearance by Trump and Juncker. In September 2016, he recorded a conversation between himself and the President in which they discussed a payment to silence a former playmate named Karen McDougal from speaking about her relationship with Trump.

Sanders, in her own statement, defended the decision and claimed that Collins had "shouted questions and refused to leave despite repeatedly being asked to do so" at the end of the Oval Office event.

CNN, in a statement, objected to the move, calling it "retaliatory in nature" and "not indicative of an open and free press".

On Thursday, Shine didn't address the situation directly but quibbled with the use of the word "ban" in describing the action taken against Collins.

"We stand in strong solidarity with CNN for the right to full access for our journalists as part of a free and unfettered press", Fox News president Jay Wallace said in a statement Wednesday. "It can not stand. Reporters asking questions of powerful government officials, up to and including the President, helps hold those people accountable". Journalists sometimes ignore the shouts of White House aides in such settings if it seems like the president might answer a question. If the Trump folks were unclear on this, they should have consulted every other president before them.
