Michael Cohen turned over a rock in the muck

Trump Lashes Out At His Lawyer Over Tape Of Hush Money For Alleged Affair

The dramatic leak of a taped conversation between Donald Trump and his longtime attorney signals an aggressive new strategy by Michael Cohen, raising questions about how much the USA leader has to fear should the former fixer cooperate with prosecutors.

Avenatti has been trying to pressure Cohen into releasing all the evidence that he has on the work that he did for Trump in the run-up to the 2016 election.

The lawyer tells the then-candidate, "we'll have to pay", and Trump is heard telling him, "pay with cash", though it's not clear from the recording whether Trump is suggesting paying or not paying. Cohen quickly replies, "No, no, no, no, no".

But Lanny Davis, Cohen's lawyer, told Cuomo that "Richard Nixon couldn't spin the tape that did him in".

In the tape, Cohen suggested to Trump they buy the rights to former Playboy model Karen McDougal's story, which had been bought by the publisher of the National Enquirer a month earlier. "Why was the tape so abruptly terminated (cut) while I was presumably saying positive things?" "Can this be so?" Collins said she told them she was being banned because "you don't like the questions I asked", and they responded that her network wasn't banned, "but you are not invited to the Rose Garden today".

"This is about truth vs. lying, and ultimately Donald Trump is going to be done in by the truth", he added.

Jackpot Jumps to $522 MILLION for Tonight's Mega Millions Drawing
Robinson says she usually doesn't play the lottery, but she couldn't pass up even the slightest chance to win that much money. A victor taking the $303.4 lump cash prize would receive $231 million immediately after federal taxes are taken out.

The president might be having second thoughts now that Mr Cohen has made public his recording of a controversial conversation first leaked to the press last week.

Over on The Tonight Show, Fallon leaked a new Trump-Cohen tape, featuring all of the beverages that the president would ever want. "I think it's probably in his (Cohen's) interests to pursue some kind of deal. If you wanted to hide something, you would not do it by corporation or cheque", he said.

By burying Ms. McDougal's story during the campaign in a practice known in the tabloid industry as "catch and kill", A.M.I. protected Mr. Trump from negative publicity that could have harmed his election chances, spending money to do so.

In May, President Trump admitted he had reimbursed Mr Cohen for a payment he made to hush up her claims. Court filings say 12 audio recordings in all were passed on to federal prosecutors after lawyers dropped any claims of attorney-client privilege.

Trump is legally bound to disclose campaign donations and expenditures, and the payments, which Trump denies happening, allegedly made to McDougal and Daniels went unreported by both Cohen and Trump.
