Willian coy on Chelsea future amid Barcelona links

The Brazil global has been heavily tipped to leave Stamford Bridge since the close of the campaign and according to The Sun, they are prepared to beat Barcelona to the player's services.

'People speculate a lot. "But now it is time for each of us to defend our corner and I hope to come out on top", Willian said at Brazil's training base in Sochi on Wednesday.

"I've not received any information about whether [Barca's interest] is true".

McGarry further added, "Barcelona is looking to strengthen because they know Real Madrid are looking to strengthen significantly".

Jose Mourinho is thought to have made the wideman his number one target this summer, though he faces stiff competition from La Liga champions Barcelona.

Neymar shines as Brazil beat Mexico to reach World Cup quarters
Reaction: Neymar scared by a ghost? "This should be a sport of ability, of determination, a game of men, not of so much clowning". The rapid recovery seemed miraculous for a player who missed the last three months of the season with a broken right foot.

The winger has been linked with a move away from Chelsea this summer, with Jose Mourinho claimed to be keen on reuniting with his former player at Manchester United.

He still has a contract at Stamford Bridge until 2020 and has won the club's Players' Player of the Year award in two of the past three seasons.

Willian's move to Barcelona could take place because Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez want someone who can do well on the right-wing, according to football expert Ian McGarry.

The Blues' managerial situation is still uncertain as well, but Maurizio Sarri finally looks set to be installed as Antonio Conte's successor, per Darren Lewis in the Mirror.

And Willian had praise for the forward, saying: "Coutinho has been playing a wonderful World Cup, and he helps us a lot".
