Big changes in NBA Title odds with James' move to L.A.

LeBron James

With the announcement of LeBron James' decision to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers and head for Los Angeles with a four-year, $154 million contract in tow, the betting lines have changed seismically in Las Vegas.

But this one? This one is ... odd.

James, a two-time Olympic champion, left Cleveland before in 2010 for the Miami Heat, where he reached the NBA Finals four times, going 2-2, before departing for the Cavaliers, vowing to bring a title to Cleveland, his home region having grown up in nearby Akron.

A high-level Philadelphia 76ers contingent is meeting with LeBron James' agent, Rich Paul, on Sunday in Los Angeles, league sources told ESPN.

Eight years ago, LeBron James announced he was taking his talents to South Beach in a television special. The team was reportedly willing to offer James $38.25 million annual maximum salary over four years, ESPN wrote.

But there is still a great deal of uncertainty surrounding the Lakers and what comes next, as they try to build a contender around James.

Cavani fires Uruguay into last eight as Ronaldo's World Cup dream ends
Uruguay , meanwhile, had not conceded a goal in 2018 - an impressive run of six games, three of them at Russian Federation 2018. In the 22nd minute, Suarez almost added his name to the scoresheet when he was brought down by Jose Fonte from around 25-yards.

Moving to L.A. will also help James expand his business interests and allow his children to attend high-profile schools.

The decision to join the Lakers was not a surprise to his innermost circle, with one person telling AP that it had been presumed for some time that he was headed to Los Angeles next season. The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor reported some National Basketball Association teams believe James has already decided on the Lakers, but is stretching out the process for added drama.

Durant's move means the Warriors not only got to keep the 2017 and 2018 NBA Finals MVP, but they also get some financial flexibility in the deal since he could have gotten more money had the deal been structured differently. From there, Los Angeles would have some roster shuffling to do to add a key second piece.

The chance to play for one of America's most storied franchises was appealing to James, who prides himself on knowing the game's history.

Embiid posted a message on Twitter that seemed to be directed at No. 23 and what it might be like to walk in the footsteps of Lakers legends like Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West and Shaquille O'Neal.
