Salah hits out at Ramos over Champions League final injury

Salah scored the goal in qualification that took Egypt to their first World Cup since 1990 and went on to score 43 goals for Liverpool last season.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has spoken about the Champions League final clash with Sergio Ramos which saw him taken off injured in the first half as Real Madrid won in Kiev.

Salah went on to confirm he is hoping to be fit to play in Egypt's first World Cup game against Uruguay next Friday, as he looked forward to the finals in Russian Federation.

And having seen Ramos ridicule recent criticism against him over Salah and Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius, Salah said that he has not forgiven the Spaniard for what happened.

"I feel much better now and I'll be ready to play against Uruguay".

The record seven-time African champions have qualified for the World Cup for only the third time and first since 1990. "I began to think that I would miss the World Cup, it was devastating", he said. Egyptians are pinning their hopes on Salah.

"Our goal is to keep him safe and he will play if he's 100 per cent fit".

The 20 additional matches will cost the telco £90m, bringing the total cost for 52 games to £975 million over three years. BT bought the other package for £885m, down from its current £960m and for fewer matches.

Ramos was heavily criticised for his role in the incident, but he said things had "been blown out of all proportion" and that he had exchanged messages with Salah, who had told him everything was OK.

Romelu Lukaku, favoured as starting striker over Michy Batshuayi, thumped home from close range in the 27th minute when Egypt's 45-year-old keeper Essam El-Hadary spilled from Eden Hazard.

Driven forward by the speed and insight of Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne, Belgium was up 2-0 at halftime before losing some fluency amid a flurry of substitutions after the break. "Maybe like for Spain to win the World Cup", he added.

"Just to help the team to qualify and score goals, but mainly try to help the team do better in matches".

Nigeria, who have lost three of their last four games and drawn the other, kick off their World Cup campaign against Croatia on June 16, but they looked disinterested during the opening half as the Czechs dominated.
