Brazilian striker Neymar makes spectacular return as Brazil beats Croatia 2-0

Neymar-Brazil

Neymar celebrated his eagerly anticipated return from injury with a superb goal for Brazil in their World Cup warm-up against Croatia on Sunday (June 3).

The Brazilians had to wait until second-half stoppage time to secure the second goal as a ball over the top found Roberto Firmino, who calmly lobbed Subasic.

The five-times world champions have one more friendly before the tournament, against Austria in Vienna on June 10.

Neymar, who withstood a few challenges in the game, received the ball from Philippe Coutinho in the 68th and dribbled past Croatia defenders Sime Vrsaljko and Duje Caleta-Car.

Neymar suffered a fractured foot while playing for PSG against Marseille in Ligue 1 on February 25. The 26-year-old cut inside and skipped past two defenders before blasting the ball home off the underside of the crossbar.

The Barcelona midfielder looked likely to depart Anfield last summer when it was obvious that Barcelona wanted to sign him and that he wanted to go.

DeChambeau leads by one, Woods in the hunt at Memorial
That left DeChambeau with an eight-foot putt for par and the title but it drifted left and he signed for a one-under 71. Woods seems to have found his new old (or old new?) groove, and his play this week is the new expectation going forward.

On Coutinho's first return to Anfield, it was noticeable how much he was whistled by sections of the crowd.

After his goal, Neymar made sure to head to the Brazil bench to embrace team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar, who operated on his foot fracture three months ago.

Russian Federation 2018 will be Neymar's second World Cup finals.

After a low-key opening in the Liverpool sunshine, Brazil fashioned the first chance when Gabriel Jesus, captaining the side, led a counter-attack that ended when Willian's flick was scrambled away.

Tite's announcement came as no surprise, as Neymar has been training with his Brazilian team-mates in preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
