Trump Contends Prosecutors Will 'Meddle' in 2018 Elections

Attorney General Jeff Sessions is again on the receiving end of criticism by President Trump over his recusal from the Russia matter

Napolitano was referring to comments made by Giuliani during a Fox interview in which he suggested that former President Barack Obama and top intelligence officials at the time surveilled the Trump campaign for political purposes in an effort help Hillary Clinton during the election.

MacCallum, the Fox News anchor, pressed Napolitano, asking him, "if that were the case and the president said, 'I want to know if anybody's working with Russian Federation, ' why was he not sort of clued in to that?"

Mueller is in the midst of discussions with Trump lawyers about whether Trump will answer prosecutors' questions about his campaign's links to Russian Federation and whether he obstructed justice a year ago by firing FBI director James Comey when he was leading the Russian Federation investigation before Mueller, over Trump's objections, was appointed to take over.

"Sorry, I've got to start focusing my energy on North Korea Nuclear, bad Trade Deals, VA Choice, the Economy, rebuilding the Military, and so much more, and not on the Rigged Russia Witch Hunt that should be investigating Clinton/Russia/FBI/Justice/Obama/Comey/Lynch etc.", he tweeted.

Trump on Wednesday tweeted a quote from Republican congressman Trey Gowdy, who said Sessions should have told Trump before accepting the job that he planned to recuse himself from the investigation. Another staunch advocate of President Trump on cable TV, Judge Andrew Napolitano, also appeared on Fox and expressed agreement with Gowdy's assessment that the president and Rudy are not accurate in saying that a spy infiltrated the Trump campaign.

"I am even more convinced that the Federal Bureau of Investigation did exactly what my fellow citizens would want them to do when they got the information they got and that it has nothing to do with Donald Trump", Gowdy, a South Carolina Republican, told Fox News on Tuesday.

Trump hits China with $50B tariffs, investment restrictions
China retaliated by imposing additional tariffs worth about United States dollars three billion on 128 U.S. products. Trump shot back with a threat of up to $150 billion in tariffs on Chinese imports to the U.S.

"You have a president peddling these falsehoods and you have essentially people putting out propaganda" to promote that "fiction", the California Democrat said.

Coons said Gowdy "is stepping forward and putting to rest the baseless allegations by President Trump". "There are lots of really good lawyers in the country, he could have picked somebody else!' And I wish I did!"

When critics such as House intelligence committee ranking member Adam Schiff, D-Calif., don't say that Trump isn't a target, they're "doing a disservice to all our fellow citizens", Gowdy said.

The Justice Department responded to Trump's demand by asking its inspector general to look into the matter.

Judge Amy Berman Jackson said in an order Tuesday that she had privately reviewed the two affidavits in question and agreed with Mueller's team that they didn't have to reveal the un-redacted information to Manafort's lawyers.

"Why aren't the 13 Angry and heavily conflicted Democrats investigating the totally Crooked Campaign of totally Crooked Hillary Clinton".
