An United States Naval Academy graduate celebrates with his diploma as US President Donald Trump shakes hands during a ceremony in Annapolis, Maryland on May 25, 2018.

Trump said Friday that "we will have the strongest military that we ever had". "Yes, they are respecting us again".

"We've gained the respect that we used to have long ago". "We are not going to apologize for America, we are going to stand up for America". As he hailed the late Bruce Van Voorhis of the class of 1929, a war hero and one-time Nevadan, Trump joked that the Naval Academy graduate "spent most of his time teaching city slickers from the East the correct pronunciation of Nevada".

Trump's address focused heavily on military investment, including $700 billion that Congress approved this year. Mr. Trump is giving the U.S. Naval Academy's commencement speech in Annapolis, Md., Friday morning.

"We are not going to apologize for America, we are going to stand up for America - no more apologies", he said in his address to graduates. We are going to stand up for America.
