Kushner granted permanent security clearance, AP source says

White House senior adviser Jared Kushner denied any wrongdoing in the Russia case last July and the administration is now restoring his top-level security clearance

White House senior adviser Jared Kushner has finally been granted permanent security clearance, according to The New York Times.

The news comes as Kushner, President Donald Trump's son-in-law, lost access to sensitive intelligence in February because he was never permanently cleared by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and was operating on an interim security clearance, which only gave him access to "secret" level intelligence, The NYT reported.

The decision raised questions about Kushner's ability to fulfill his extensive White House job duties and whether the delay in securing permanent clearance was related to special counsel Robert Mueller's Russian Federation probe.

Lowell said in an appearance later Wednesday on CNN that Kushner spent nine hours being interviewed by the special counsel in his November and April sessions. "Having accomplished these processes, Mr. Kushner is trying ahead to persevering with the work the President has requested him to do".

Lowell in his statement said Kushner had cooperated with all investigations into the Trump campaign and administration.

The Kushner team believes he is now finished with all ongoing inquiries, which also include the investigations by congressional committees, according to a person close to Kushner.

And on Google as of Thursday morning, a search on mobile for "Law office of Aaron M. He also states that the workers are probably on welfare that he says he pays for.

"In each occasion, he answered all questions asked and did whatever he could to expedite the conclusion of the investigations", Lowell told the Times.

Kushner had to resubmit his security clearance form past year because of foreign contacts that had been omitted. He could lose his clearance tomorrow if he is indicted. He said career staff at the White House and in an intelligence agency, typically the CIA, generally make the decisions about restoring a clearance. But the delay opened an avenue of attack for Democrats, who questioned whether the investigation had unearthed information that raised doubts about whether he should be allowed access to sensitive information. Others to speak with the special counsel included former chief strategist Steve Bannon, White House senior adviser Stephen Miller and former White House communications director Hope Hicks.

Kushner attended a meeting in June 2016 with a Russian at Trump Tower during the campaign in an attempt to get disparaging information on Hillary Clinton, and he attempted to set up a "back channel" to the Kremlin during the presidential transition.

Whether the restoration of Kushner's clearance is somehow related to his cooperation with Mueller is not immediately clear.

Initially, Kushner did not list his foreign contacts on the form, though he submitted an addendum indicating he was willing to detail them.
