Facebook Users Are Unbothered by Privacy Debacle, Reuters Poll Shows

The offices where Cambridge Analytica is based in central London

But warnings for Facebook doubters: When the second-quarter report is due in July, Facebook might still come out as sound and indestructible as always, because those who were once a Facebook user will always be a Facebook user, a recent consumer poll suggests.

US-based boffin Professor David Carroll (of the Parsons School of Design in New York) had filed a subject access request (SAR) in the United Kingdom, because American law didn't give him any way to get Cambridge Analytica's owner to disgorge the information it holds about him. But it appears to have had little to no effect on most users.

The national online poll, conducted April 26-30, found that about half of Facebook's American users said they had not recently changed the amount that they used the site, and another quarter said they were using it more.

The tool, Facebook said, will also enable the users to delete this information from their account, and turn off Facebook's ability to store it.

Cambridge Analytica has announced that they are in the beginning stages of insolvency.

Chelsea 1-0 Liverpool: Olivier Giroud keeps Blues' top-four hopes alive
We should see Bakayoko starting, together with Olivier Giroud , in a mission to exploit Liverpool's defensive fragilities. The Reds come into today's game off the back of a midweek epic in Rome. "But Liverpool deserve to play in this final".

In an interview with Reuters, Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter said, "I have yet to read an article that says a single person has been harmed by the breach". Kogan then passed these details along to Cambridge Analytica so that the political ads may be created and introduced to specific users or audiences.

Its managers have denied, however, using data harvested by Cambridge University psychologist Alexandr Kogan through a personality quiz on Facebook, in the 2016 USA election.

To add insult to injury, Cambridge Analytica's CEO was in hot water for confessing that their data was indeed used to influence the election and stored on a self-destructing email server. "Nobody's outraged on a visceral level".

Seventy-four percent of Facebook users claimed they were aware of their privacy settings and 78 percent said they knew how to change their settings. Up to 310,000 Germans were affected by the scandal as well.

The company has been in hot water since March when it was revealed that t had improperly obtained data on 87 million Facebook users. Among Twitter users, this was 55% and 58%, while for Instagram users, it was 60% and 65%. Only 16% reported that they use the site less, while 43% said that they have not changed their frequency of use.
