3 passengers Wounded, window hits turbulence

While the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has initiated a probe into the incident Air India is yet to issue any statement

Hit by sudden turbulence, 22 passengers and crew onboard the Airbus A-380 had been injured.

The footage shows a flight attendant with the window panel in her hands, and she attempts to press the window back into place.

Besides Air India, aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and Aircraft Accident Investigation Board (AAIB) are probing the incident, which happened on April 19 soon after the flight took off from Amristar, one of the officials said.

With the recent spate of airline incidents around the world, passengers' confidence in air travel is... going out the window (sorry).

Passengers aboard an Air India flight have been left traumatised after "a freak level" of turbulence left three passengers injured and caused a seat window to from its frame. But in another interview, less than a fortnight ago, Tata Sons Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran said that the group would consider if adding another airline to its aviation business would make sense to its business prospects.

She even won support from a series of Labour MPs who backed her decision to join the United States and France in mounting strikes. The three countries had planned a coordinated strike on Syria in response to the chemical attack and was executed recently.

She then attends to the window seat passenger - a middle aged woman - and pats the lady's head, which presumably had been assaulted by the window in its mad dash for freedom. According to government officials, the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management guidelines on strategic disinvestment would make it necessary to include a clause which would safeguard against asset stripping by the strategic partner post disinvestment.

A source told The Times of India: "Passengers were naturally terrified". The outside part of the window, however, was not broken and no de-pressurisation occurred during the flight. She later died from her injuries, and seven other passengers were injured.

The Boeing 737 made an emergency landing in Philadelphia at noon local time after leaving NY bound for Dallas.

Travellers were left fearing for their lives after a jet window hours right after a woman died after she was sucked out of another airplane was split by turbulence.
