Nevertheless, young Om Mitharval ensured India ended with a medal from that discipline and secured bronze, his second medal at GC 2018.

Mehuli Ghosh and Apurvi Chandela also added to India's medal tally in the Commonwealth Games with a silver and bronze respectively in the women's 10m air rifle event.

23-year-old Mitharval, participating in his first Commonwealth Games, had also finished first in the qualification round of the 10m air pistol event after shooting 584 points to equal the Commonwealth Games record, which was previously held exclusively by India's Samaresh Jung.
