It's one year until Brexit, so good thing we've got everything covered

After Salisbury the lost art of diplomacy

The prime minister secured last week the EU's agreement to start talks on a future relationship, but uncertainties remain over the first negotiations to be completed, over the divorce itself.

Shadow chancellor John McDonnell defended Thornberry's comments, emphasising her "sarcasm" in response to a journalist's question.

Despite misgivings about the government's performance and doubts about the result of the negotiations with the European Union, 68 percent of the respondents say that "those who voted against Brexit should respect the will of the majority" - with only 35 percent thinking there should be a second referendum.

He told BBC Radio 4's Today programme the tests were "nowhere near being met" and insisted Labour would not vote for the deal unless "the government are sensible and they negotiate properly".

"By pursuing a disastrous hard Brexit, regardless of the cost to jobs and living standards, Theresa May and the Tories have shown they think they can now do anything to Scotland and get away with it", said Mr Russell.

Mrs May began her tour by visiting a textile factory in Ayrshire with other stops at a parent and toddler group in Newcastle, lunch with farmers near Belfast before meeting businesses in Barry, south Wales.

Addressing voters, she said the UK "will thrive as a strong and united country that works for everyone, no matter whether you voted Leave or Remain".

May has been accused of a power grab by the Scottish and Welsh governments over plans to repatriate some powers from Brussels to Westminster rather than to the devolved administrations.

Egypt's poll body threatens to fine non-voters
Sisi overthrew Islamist president Mohammed Morsi in 2013 following mass protests against his rule. Some voters said they had received payments and other inducements to cast their ballots.

She said each devolved region of Britain will see an increase in their decision-making powers.

England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales in a single day. "As stated by the European Commission in its notice to stakeholders on European Food Law in relation to the UK's withdrawal from the EU, the Commission's position is that United Kingdom exports to the EU27 will face veterinary inspection as any other third country does today". It's a future in which we trade freely with friends and partners across Europe and beyond.

"I believe there is a bright future out there once we've left the European Union", May said during her visit to Bangor in Northern Ireland.

Prime Minister Theresa May said, "Today, one year until the United Kingdom leaves the EU and begins to chart a new course in the world, I am visiting all four nations of the Union to hear from people across our country what Brexit means to them".

Later this year, Theresa May will put an outline of the Brexit deal to Parliament for its approval.

The PM also promised to "protect the integrity of the United Kingdom as a whole", restating her opposition to a controversial EU proposal to keep Northern Ireland inside its customs union.

"There is still a real chance that we should be able to choose, if that's what we want, a different path and not go down the Brexit route", she added.
