Black Panther is expected to have earned $630.9 million by the end of the weekend, rocketing past The Avengers' final cume of $623 million.

Black Panther this weekend surpassed Marvel Cinematic Universe sibling The Avengers in North American box office earnings, making it the highest-grossing superhero movie of all time there.

Disney now owns eight of those 14 films to have crossed $1.2 billion worldwide.

Black Panther's success continues to challenge the myth that non-U.S. audiences have little interest in watching movies featuring predominantly black casts. If this happens, the film will become the fifth highest grossing movie in USA history, behind Star Wars the Force Awakens, Avatar, Titanic and Jurassic World.

Last Tuesday, Twitter confirmed that Marvel's latest offering has been tweeted about more than 35 million times. When two foes conspire to destroy Wakanda, the hero known as Black Panther must team up with C.I.A. agent Everett K. Ross and members of the Dora Milaje, Wakandan special forces, to prevent Wakanda from being dragged into a world war.

Everything you need to know about OnePlus 6: Specs, price and features
OnePlus is expected to launch a new flagship smartphone in the coming months and it's clearing its OnePlus 5T stock prior to that. Elsewhere, the OnePlus 5T also supports a face unlock feature akin to the iPhone X without deploying additional tech.

The Disney/Marvel box-office sensation will likely finally lose its number one spot at the domestic box office to newcomer "Pacific Rim: Uprising".

Marvel's latest release has received acclaim across the board.

The top-Tweeted box office hits of 2018 so far remain #BlackPanther, Star Wars: #TheLastJedi and Avengers: #InfinityWar, in that order.

The film stars Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa/Black Panther alongside Lupita Nyong'o, Michael B Jordan, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker and Andy Serkis.
