Google Launches ARCore, Teases 'Ghostbusters' Augmented Reality Game

Google announces Android Enterprise Recommended program

Google will launch its augmented reality system ARCore with new features, and plans to make its Lens visual search tool part of Google Photos on all phones, according to The Verge. Now that ARCore 1.0 is expanding into the public realm, Google says that developers are free to publish their AR apps directly to the Play Store. What will be added is a developer feature to toggle night mode for app testing.

The technology in ARCore now works on 100 million Android smartphones, all of which are newer flagship devices from Samsung, LG, and Google itself.

Now that smartphones primarily use OLED displays (even LG has made the switch!), many people out there would prefer if Android itself supported a dark theme or dark mode to truly take advantage of the screens the software is displayed on.

"ARCore 1.0 features improved environmental understanding that enables users to place virtual assets on textured surfaces like posters, furniture, toy boxes, books, cans and more", wrote Anuj Gosalia, Google Director of Engineering for AR.

This demo version will be shown at Mobile World Congress, says Google. Google today announced that the first set of Android Oreo (Go Edition) phones will be unveiled next week and will be available for purchase soon after.

He claimed he had received a call from Singh's office saying that the home minister could not meet him as he was busy. The statement reads, "The CM's advisor called again at 11:20pm to check if I had left my residence".

Google handed the Oreo version of Android Go to manufacturers back in December.

Not only that but during this time frame, English-language users on compatible flagship devices will get the camera-based Lens experience within the Google Assistant as well.

New apps will include experiences from Snapchat, Sotheby's, Porsche and JD.com, Google said.

However, the more exciting announcement is the arrival of Google Lens to roughly all the iOS (iOS 9 or above) and Android users.

Since Google Lens' launch, the company has added text selection features and the ability to create contacts and events from a photo with one tap. Google Lens has tremendous potential to change the way we interact with our smartphones and we hope that it gets polished. It uses image recognition algorithms to identify things like the breed of a dog or different kinds of plants.
