Woods admits 'work to do' before Masters

Tiger Woods tees off on the 13th tee during the first round of the Honda Classic golf tournament Thursday Feb. 22 2018 in Palm Beach Gardens Fla. Golfers wore a ribbon on their caps in memory of the students and faculty killed in the Marjory Stoneman

The wind is supposed to blow hard, as it does in South Florida this time of the year.

No first-round leader or co-leader has gone on to win the Honda Classic since 2003 but Alex Noren and Webb Simpson are both hoping to end that run after setting the pace Thursday.

Defending champion Rickie Fowler and four-time major victor Rory McIlroy are also in the afternoon wave.

"It's tiring", McIlroy said after Friday's second round with Woods and Justin Thomas. "I'm very happy with where my game's at". The victor of 14 majors and 79 Tour titles has been woeful with the driver, hitting just 30 of 84 fairways in regulation, and erratic with his irons, hitting just 58 of 108 greens in regulation. Some of those misses off the tee came with driver, which he hit five times, only finding the short grass once. However, the next three holes were nightmares and by the time he stood on the 14th tee, a brutal par 3, he was 4 over par, and nearly assuredly done for the week. However, what that victory showed us is that it is possible for anybody on the PGA Tour to have one of those weeks when every drive finds the middle of the fairway, every approach finds the heart of the green and all those putts that normally slide by instead find the middle of the hole.

Woods is playing alongside Patton Kizzire and Brand Snedeker in the first two rounds.

Woods got up-and-down to save par, something he did successfully six of eight times on Thursday, which was another area of his game that looked sharper than his last round when he missed the cut at Riviera. "It was really tough".

Lauren Cohan joins 'Whiskey Cavalier' pilot at ABC, eyes 'Walking Dead' exit
News of the contract negotiation snag broke a couple weeks ago, but this is the first time anyone's speaking out about it. Cohan has been on The Walking Dead since the beginning of season 2 and she became a regular in season 3.

When McIlroy's comments were relayed to him, Woods said, "It's cost me a lot of shots over the years".

Glover's strength is his long game and he's now 8th in Strokes Gained: Off-The-Tee this season and 33rd in Greens In Regulation. I feel like that's putting yourself under an bad lot of pressure.

Now he gets to play PGA National for a second time and there was much encouragement to be taken on his debut past year. It was tough all around today.

"Obviously if you do win one, it makes you feel a little better about yourself going there, but I don't want to put myself under that pressure because there's enough going into Augusta", McIlroy said.

FIELD: Another brilliant field from the PGA Tour, who are excelling in 2018 - with defending champion Fowler the leading light, but Justin Thomas, Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia, Adam Scott and Tiger Woods are also present in Florida to set-up what looks like another four days of great action.

His only other bogey was on the par-4 16th, where despite finding the fairway with a 2-iron, he tugged 7-iron into the sand and didn't get up and down. "Before that, he used to hit some spectacular shots, and I think you would have seen more of that if there was more good players around him to keep pushing him". I didn't do that in L.A., hit the ball in the wrong spots and consequently, I was down the road after two days. "Today was not easy".
