Turkey frees journalist Deniz Yucel pending trial for 'spreading terrorist propaganda'

Chancellor Angela Merkel welcomed the release, and called on Turkey to guarantee fast judicial proceedings for the other detainees.

Yucel was jailed in February past year on suspicion of spreading propaganda in support of a terrorist organisation and inciting violence.
