Apple's New Glass Spaceship Headquarters Discourages Distracted Walking

Apple headquarters

An amusing tidbit this morning highlights a potential flaw in Apple Park's all-glass design. But the idea of using glass, however, isn't the most impressive detail about this structure, Apple's design chief Jony Ive said. According to Marketwatch, at least two suffered cuts to their heads and required treatment by emergency services. The building provides glass-based viewing portals of this park along with views of the landscape surrounding the building's exterior. Employees are not allowed to discuss anything related to Apple with outsiders. But it is apparently a widespread problem inside the new building.

According to a new report from Bloomberg, employees are accidentally walking into glass walls while walking within the campus.

Problem is, people can see right through the glass. Calling your employees geniuses was never the best idea, but it's become hilariously ironic with the news that employees at Apple's futuristic new headquarters keep walking into the glass walls and doors Apple installed. But that very statement of "openness" and "free movement" of Apple's headquarters design is getting in the way of all those busy employees who keep smacking into the handsome glass walls.

Housing 13,000 employees, the building might as well be seen as a true wonder where people feel they are free to connect and go as they please.

If Apple will not act soon, some employees may take legal action for the workplace violation. It's not entirely clear how many such incidents have occurred, though people who are supposedly familiar with the situation told Bloomberg that this is something that has happened repeatedly since the campus opened.

Community advocates react to proposed change to food stamp program
Lawrence County's commissioner of social services, said he was concerned the changes would not create the savings that were hoped. The government can get the food at wholesale prices, he said, and "it also makes sure they're getting nutritious food".

Apple's new spaceship campus that opened past year is one handsome headquarters.

Apple is discovering that sleek architecture doesn't necessarily play nicely with health & safety, after multiple reported cases of Apple Park staff walking into glass doors and windows. However, the Post-In cards were removed because it was detracting from the design of the building.

As you'd expect, Apple isn't commenting and won't let the general public into the building.

This does, however, reflect a story from 2012, in which an 83-year-old woman filed suit against the company after injuring herself after bumping into a glass surface at an Apple Store.
