Major Senate Budget Deal

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of N.Y. accompanied by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of Calif. left and others members of the House and Senate Democrats speaks during a news conference on Capitol Hill in Was

In signing the $400 billion spending bill into law Friday morning, Trump bought the government another six weeks of spending authority.

The White House also will amend the budget plan to take into account the higher spending levels in the budget deal passed just before dawn on Friday, a senior official in the Office of Management and Budget said.

He begins the statement with, "This is no way to run a country".

A congressional source familiar with the agreement said it would increase non-defense spending by $131-billion and include $20-billion for infrastructure spending.

Also on Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., met with Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., to work out a long-term spending measure that would keep the government funded for the next two years. This Bill is a BIG VICTORY for our Military, but much waste in order to get Dem votes.

A single Republican senator late Thursday held up a bipartisan bill to keep the US government open hours before federal funds expired.

Before the vote, Ryan did voice support for bringing the immigration to the House floor, although he did not provide a promise to do so, The New York Times reported. "Make no mistake, I will always stand up for fiscal responsibility, regardless of which party is in power, and I will continue to call the Republican party home to the ideas that led to Americans trusting us with government in the first place", Paul said.

The bill was equally delayed in the House after Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., made an impassioned case to her colleagues this week to vote against a bipartisan measure negotiated by her Senate counterpart, Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

The senate will take up the bill on Wednesday.

Kim Jong Un invites South Korean president for talks in the North
She is the first immediate family member of North Korea's founder Kim Il Sung to ever set foot in the South. US Vice President Mike Pence , who was seated next to Moon, stared ahead as the ceremony unfolded.

"Now we have Republicans hand in hand with Democrats offering us trillion-dollar deficits", he said.

"There is probably a lot of blame to go around for the Republicans who are advocating for this debt", Paul said to CNN's Erin Burnett OutFront.

Pelosi - who on Wednesday spoke for eight straight hours on the chamber's floor in opposition to the measure - said Thursday that she would oppose the bill.

"This agreement ensures that our armed forces will finally have the resources they need", Republican Senator John Cornyn of Texas said.

While the bill is expected to pass easily in the Senate, the House will be a tougher sell.

Republican Representative Kristi Noem told Reuters she voted against the bill because it increases non-defense spending and raises the federal debt ceiling.

Some lawmakers, including Flake, have suggested they may have to fall back on a temporary DACA extension with modest border security measures if lawmakers can not agree on a broader immigration reform bill.

The 77-year-old vowed to oppose any budget that does not include protections for so-called Dreamers, young immigrants who entered the USA illegally as children.

Democrats have sought to link the funding debate to a permanent solution for the "Dreamers", who were shielded from deportation under an Obama-era program which ended last September by Trump, who set a March 5 deadline for resolving the issue.
