Baby left behind in Arizona airport bathroom with handwritten note

Woman gives birth and leaves note after abandoning infant son in Arizona airport bathroom as authorities ask for public's help in identifying her

A rental vehicle employee discovered the baby boy in the bathroom with a note from his mother on his chest.

The Tucson Airport Authority released footage this week of the woman walking through the airport when the baby was abandoned on January 14, and are looking to find out who she is.

He was taken to a local hospital and is now in the care of Arizona Department of Child Safety.

A custodian from the airport says she discovered pools of blood on the bathroom floor shortly after the woman left. A rental call employee found the boy and a note. "Please get me to the authorities so they can find a good home", the note reads.

The note further read in the voice of a newborn: "Please help me".

"I just want what's best for him": Mother abandons baby in airport bathroom Authorities at the Tucson International Airport are looking for a woman who abandoned a newborn baby.

The expectant mother walked into the airport, but later left the premises without her newborn baby after she gave birth to the child inside the restroom, airport authorities said.

Quintana said she found bloody clothes in the trash can with paper towels on top in an apparent effort to hide them.

The youngster was in great condition, authorities said. "Please. I'm sorry", the mother wrote on the note. She is unable and unfit to take care of me. Airport officials are trying to identify the mother, "but we've exhausted our resources", Butler said in a statement.

All 50 U.S. states, Puerto Rico and Washington DC have a law known as the safe-haven or Baby Moses law which allows mothers to leave newborns at certain locations such as hospitals without fear of penalty. The mother may still face criminal charges, given that the airport is not a designated location. "There is a lot of fear".
