Fife braced for ice and snow

Snow UK Weather forecast

Yet another Status Yellow weather warning has been issued for the country by Met Eireann this morning, as more snow and ice is on the way.

Forecasters have warned that the wintry conditions could continue for the rest of the month. Showers will be more frequent in the west and north of the country.

Heavy snow showers are expected to follow on from a spell of rain, sleet and hill snow with ice spells expected on Friday.

The severe snow and ice warning for the rest of the United Kingdom, excluding easternmost parts, will remain in place until midday on Friday.

A separate warning for ice runs concurrently until 9am on Friday, with injuries from slips and falls possible. Showery light snow spreading into SE Britain overnight will soon clear this morning, to leave most areas with a dry, sunny but chilly day as a ridge of high pressure builds in.
