Poor US leadership will lead to major war with Russia, China

US assumptions about China's nuclear development absurd

The Pentagon called for the United States to develop two new types of weapons in an update of its nuclear policy Friday.

A report by Breaking Defence points out the reluctance of the government to have a policy wherein there are circumstances which automatically call for the use of nuclear weapons.

Avoidance of "automaticity", a system where there is an automated retaliation in the form of a nuclear strike, and the need for new low-yield nuclear weapons are among the highlights of the Nuclear Posture Review (NPR) of the USA government released over the weekend. The assessment, known as a Nuclear Posture Review, mainly concerns U.S. nukes and missiles.

The Pentagon document, known as the Nuclear Posture Review, also urged Beijing to establish "meaningful dialogue" with Washington. The threat from North Korea and the uncertainty surrounding Iran are also major driving factors mentioned by the NPR.

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed "deep disappointment" at the plan.

Low-yield nuclear weapons, while still devastating, have a strength of less than 20 kilotons.

Want Office 2019? Microsoft has a condition for you
The Timeline feature in Windows 10 has a card based information that relies on activities and the cards have unique information. Microsoft argues that cutting off support for older operating systems will help coordinate updates between Office and Windows.

The United States' so-called nuclear triad - the military's ability to launch and defend nuclear attacks with land-based intercontinental ballistic missiles, submarine-launched ballistic missiles and air-launched cruise missiles - will remain critical to its nuclear deterrence strategy.

"The US Nuclear Posture Review reflects greater reliance on nukes in violation of the #NPT, bringing humankind closer to annihilation".

"We hope that the United States will abandon its Cold War mentality, earnestly assume its special disarmament responsibilities, correctly understand China's strategic intentions and objectively view China's national defence and military build-up", the ministry said in the statement posted on its website.

It is the first time since 2010 that the USA military has outlined its perception of future nuclear threats.

The document said the USA will develop for deployment a "low-yield" nuclear warhead for submarine-launched ballistic missiles. Late past year it denounced Washington's updated defence strategy and urged the USA to abandon "outdated notions".

China has voiced its firm opposition to the new U.S. nuclear strategy that outlines plans to expand the country's nuclear capabilities.
