Air Force One departs Las Vegas past the broken windows on the Mandalay Bay hotel, where shooter Stephen Paddock conducted his mass shooting along the Las Vegas Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S., October 4, 2017.

"If I had anything that would help further this or shed light or help explain why this wacko did what he did", he said of Paddock, "I'd be more than happy to tell you".

Newsweek reports that the publication interviewed Douglas Haig on October 4, and he confirmed that representatives from the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives had interviewed him in the immediate days following the shooting.

Paddock's shooting left 58 dead and more than 500 wounded after he rained hundreds of rounds down on a Las Vegas music festival from his suite in the Mandalay Bay hotel.

A USA district judge ruled on Tuesday to unseal almost 300 pages of search warrant records issued by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) after the deadest mass shooting in the modern history of the United States last October.

On Tuesday night, Haig told reporters that "I'm the guy that sold ammunition to Stephen Paddock", but that he had met Paddock only once and did not know him, the Review-Journal reports.

"I have to think that if it was really, really serious or there was something that they thought I did that was wrong, [the agents] would have been kicking my door down", Haig said. Paddock's physician described him as "odd" in behavior with "little emotion" shown, according to the report.

Records show Haig owns Specialized Military Ammunition, LLC. However, authorities have said an unnamed person could face unspecified charges in connection to the mass shooting.

Local gymnasts react to Dr. Larry Nassar's sentencing
The accusers said they were regularly molested after they sought medical treatment for various injuries. Nassar pleaded guilty to assaulting seven people in the Lansing, Michigan, area between 1998 and 2015.

The newspaper published the name online. An FBI spokeswoman told that outlet she could not immediately comment Tuesday.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal said in an article published Tuesday that a judge had unsealed almost 300 pages of search warrant records, in which Haig and Paddock's girlfriend, Marilou Danley, were named as "persons of interest" last October. They referred CNN to federal authorities.

Danley was in the Philippines at the time of the attack and is cooperating with investigators.

The other is Paddock's girlfriend, Marilou Danley.

Separately, Judge Timothy Williams ruled that the Clark County coroner should release autopsy records of the shooter and the 58 people killed by gunfire, with victims' names blacked out.

Law enforcement officers stand guard at one of the entrance points to the concert venue, where one of worst mass shootings in the US took place, in Las Vegas, Oct. 3, 2017.

Danley was Paddock's girlfriend, and she has been questioned in the case - but police do not expect her to be charged.
