Barry and Honey Sherman died in focused double murder

Toronto police to update Barry and Honey Sherman investigation on Friday

The Canadian billionaire couple found dead at their home in Toronto last month were murdered in a targeted killing, police say.

Mr. and Ms. Sherman, who were 75 and 70 respectively, were found dead near the indoor pool of their north Toronto mansion on December 15.

They were bothfully clothed and wearing coats pulled down over their shoulders.

Police had originally said the deaths were suspicious, but there were no signs of forced entry and they were not looking for suspects.

Gomes said police considered three possibilities: that the Shermans' deaths were a double suicide, a murder-suicide or a double homicide. The family hired their own private investigators who concluded last week that the Shermans were murdered.

Gomes refused to discuss any suspects, beyond saying they hadn't zeroed in on any.

"We have sufficient evidence to describe this as a double homicide investigation and that both Honey and Barry Sherman were in fact targeted", Det-Sgt Gomes said.

Anti-Muslim German party member Arthur Wagner converts to Islam
The party also once proposed the banning of new mosques being constructed in the nation. One of the AfD's key's principles is that "Islam does not belong to Germany".

"This conclusion was expressed by the family from the outset and is consistent with the findings of the independent autopsy and investigation", their statement said.

Their neighbours, business associates and some of Canada's most powerful politicians said they were saddened by the deaths. Officials first thought it was a murder-suicide, but their family disagreed, and they hired a team of lawyers and private investigators. A top forensic pathologist who did a second autopsy determined this was a double homicide, barring any new information that surfaces.

"Legal complexities in some executions have been challenging, given the litigious nature of Barry Sherman's businesses, in particular the search and seizure of electronics in his workspace at Apotex", Gomes said.

Apotex said Friday that Jack Kay, who previously served as CEO for the privately-held company, will once again step into the chief executive role while also maintaining his current position as vice-chairman.

Since then, investigators have been scouring the house, which was only released Friday morning to the family.

"The branded drug companies hate us".

Forbes had estimated Sherman's net worth at $3.2 billion, making him the 12th-richest Canadian. For a thousand bucks paid to the right person you can probably get someone killed. They were building a new home, had winter trip plans and were very involved with their children's and grandchildren's lives. "Perhaps I'm surprised that hasn't happened", Barry Sherman told American author Jeffrey Robinson during an interview in 2000.
