Grumpy Cat wins £500k in copyright battle with coffee chain

But Bundsen's company Grumpy Cat Ltd argued that the drinks firm had gone beyond their contract by using the cat's face on a host of unauthorized products including ground coffee.

A California jury gave the furry frown queen more than $700,000 this week in a federal lawsuit over the use of her identity.

As an example, the countersuit stated that Grumpy Cat Limited claimed the unhappy cat would star in a blockbuster movie alongside comedy superstars Will Ferrell and Jack Black.
