Tehran Reiterates Rejection of Negotiations Over its Ballistic Missile Program

Paris: The Requirements Imposed by Trump on Europeans Sometimes Sound like Ultimatums

But French foreign minister Jean-Yves LeDrian told his European Union colleagues in Brussels on Monday that Tehran is not "respecting" that part of Resolution 2231.

In an interview with daily Le Figaro, Jean-Yves Le Drian said that he would discuss the landmark nuclear deal after the ultimatum delivered on January 12 by United States president Donald Trump to Britain, France and Germany to "fix" the deal or else America would withdraw from it. "I shall go to Iran on March 5", said Le Drian, who will hold talks with counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif. "It's the upholding of the [deal] to the extent it is respected", the French minister said, noting that the United Nations nuclear watchdog has said Tehran is in compliance.

Regarding the reports that Europe aims to increase pressure on Iran, Qasemi said Tehran has not officially heard from the European authorities on such a matter.

Last week, Trump again waived sanctions against Iran that were lifted as part of the landmark 2015 nuclear deal, but threatened he would terminate the agreement if "significant flaws" in it are not fixed.

The European Union has defended the accord, warning that abandoning it would be a mistake after it was thrashed out over 12 years between Iran and the United States, Britain, France, China, Germany and Russian Federation.

I'm just not going to take it. "People who stood by and did nothing when they hear bigotry are complicit in that bigotry". Asked about Kelly, the South Carolina Republican said the chief of staff is "a fine man, but he's part of the staff".

French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said the "demands" placed on Europeans by US President Donald Trump in connection with the nuclear deal with Iran "are sometimes resembling ultimatums", the France press reported. "Beyond the nuclear deal, we will also no longer tolerate its support of terrorism".

"We will also have the opportunity of underlining our firmness on Iran's compliance with United Nations Resolution 2231, which limits access to ballistic capacity and which Iran does not respect", Le Drian said.

Iranian officials have been particularly aggrieved by France's criticism of its ballistic missile tests and suggestions of possible new sanctions over the program.

"At the end of the day, this is going to be a moment where the European community has to decide whether they want to go forward with the United States or whether they want to stay in this deeply flawed deal with Iran", Pence said on January 23.
