Police Officers Shot in Harrisburg

A deputy US marshal died after a police-involved shooting in Harrisburg this morning, according to officials. One is an officer with the Harrisburg Police Department and the other is from the York City police force.

U.S. Attorney David Freed revealed the details about the fatal Thursday morning encounter in Harrisburg. He died at a hospital in Harrisburg.

The U.S. Marshals Service has identified the Marshal killed in the line of duty while serving a warrant in Harrisburg this morning.

Officials said a team of about seven showed up at the home of Shayla Lynette Towles Pierce, 30, around 6 a.m.to arrest her on a charge of making a terroristic threat with a weapon. "The person who used that force is not at large", Chardo said in a press conference, according to WGAL.

He says there is no current danger to the public.

Multiple officers were injured in Harrisburg on Thursday morning.

Harrisburg Mayor Eric Papenfuse said this sometimes mistakenly happens when parking-enforcement officers do not recognize unmarked vehicles.

Dozens of police crews and emergency personnel were at 18th and Mulberry Streets at a home in Harrisburg.

The gunman in Pagerly's case was also shot and killed, as was the man who shot Hill in Harrisburg, but that man was not even the subject of the arrest warrant being served by Hill and his fellow task force members. A news conference at the Federal Building was scheduled for 2 p.m.

The officers returned fire, killing the unidentified suspect.

Just before Christmas, a gunman distinguished as Ahmed Aminamin El-Mofty was shot and killed by police in the wake of discharging at them close to the area of Monday's occurrence, as per PennLive.
