Three rockets fired from Gaza at Israel, two intercepted by Iron Dome

Three rockets were launched around noon on Friday from Gaza into Israel's southern border communities with two intercepted by the Iron Dome aerial defense system, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack on a kibbutz near the Gaza border with Israel. No injuries were reported, but a building was damaged.

"A third rocket landed on a structure in the Shaar Hanegev Regional Council in southern Israel", it added. While in Kfar Azza, residents and guests were marking the birthday of deceased IDF soldier Oron Shaul, z'l, whose remains are still being held hostage by Gaza's ruling Hamas terrorists along with those of IDF officer Hadar Goldin, z'l. Locals said that Israeli naval ships chased down fishing boats off the coast of northern Gaza and opened fire at them.

The rockets from Gaza were the first since December 18 and mark the most sustained fire from the Gaza Strip since the 2014 Israeli assault on Gaza.
