Husband Arrested After Crying Baby Leads Police To Dead Mother

Tonie Wells’s Facebook page on which she had posted about her engagement

Tonie Wells, 22, was found dead in her Crown Heights, Brooklyn, home on December 27, 2017.

But now the NYPD's Internal Affairs Bureau is probing whether the officers even went inside the apartment at all.

Two police officers were suspended yesterday after allegedly ignoring a 911 call to check on Tonie Wells, sources told the New York Post.

"It was him, ' Tonie Wells" sister told the Daily News.

- The NYPD suspended two cops while it investigates how they handled a 911 call to check on a woman in Brooklyn who later ended up dead.

Tonie Wells, 22, was found dead with bruising to her neck following the 9:50 a.m. incident at the Crown Heights residence on Sterling Place after neighbors reportedly heard the cries of her two-year-old daughter and called the cops.

Most damning were revelations that NYPD cops had been called to the Brooklyn home earlier that Wednesday to check on Wells who told 911 she was "scared" of her husband because he was 'acting amusing, ' according to police sources cited by the nypost. The husband was identified by police as a person of interest and was in custody for questioning, WPIX-TV reported. The paper says the officers never got out of their vehicle.

"I would see them together".

"Wells" neighbor, Michelle Ruiz, 22, who last saw Wells three weeks ago, said Wells was pregnant.

A man is being questioned in the death of his wife, who was strangled and pushed down stairs in Brooklyn, officials said Thursday.

The on-and-off couple married in the spring but the nature of their current relationship was unclear NBC reported. The Medical Examiner's Office will make a final determination as to the cause of death.

Deputy Chief Michael Kemper, Commanding Officer of Detective Borough Brooklyn North, told reporters that Wells' death was deemed suspicious.

Cops have previously responded to a report of one other domestic incident at the home, authorities said.
