Ex-Steelers LB James Harrison likely to sign with Patriots

Former Steelers LB James Harrison signs with Patriots

The New England Patriots have signed former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison, according to ESPN and Harrison's Facebook Page.

Harrison visited the Patriots on Tuesday after clearing waviers and becoming a free agent following his release by Pittsburgh.

Harrison, 39, was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday and went unclaimed on waivers. Veteran David Harris saw an uptick in playing time when Hightower was lost for the year in Week 7, but did not play on Sunday despite being on New England's active roster.

The 39-year-old and Brady, 40, have seven Super Bowl titles and nearly 500 games under their combined belts.

India's Rohit equals record for fastest T20 century
Rohit Sharma now shares the record for the fastest T20I hundred with South African middle-order batsman David Miller . The batsmen continue to struggle against a strong Indian bowling attack, especially the wrist spinners.

With a week 17 win over the New York Jets, New England will secure the #1 seed in the conference. Harrison briefly retired in September 2014 following a forgettable 2013 season in Cincinnati but returned when the Steelers ran into injury trouble.

There's a real possibility that Harrison does sign back with Pittsburgh this week.

The Patriots and Steelers were already competing for the top two spots in the AFC and delivered one of the best games of the year only nine days ago, but now there is an added twist to this rivalry.

The Steelers and Patriots could potentially meet in the AFC Championship Game, which would set up a matchup between Harrison and his former team. Many of them questioned how the franchise could part ways with their all-time sack leader just before the playoffs.
