White House Denies Report That Trump Said Haitian Immigrants 'All Have AIDS'

Trump Said Haitians Have AIDS, Nigerians Live In Huts in Oval Office Meeting, New York Times Reports

"More than 2,500 were from Afghanistan, a terrorist haven, the president complained", officials in the meeting reportedly told New York Times.

John Kelly, the current White House chief of staff, was then the secretary of homeland security and asked that the room be cleared of staff, but aides could still hear the president yelling from behind the closed door. But the Times story notes that two anonymous officials who served as sources for the article deemed the comments so noteworthy at the time that they told others.

On Saturday, The New York Times released a report detailing comments President Donald Trump allegedly made toward Haitians and Nigerians.

"They all have AIDS", Trump said about the Haitians, reported The Times, quoting one person, unnamed, who was at the meeting and another who had been briefed by a different person who was in attendance.

The Times report said Kelly and Tillerson attempted to react by saying a large number of the visas were for here and now voyagers, yet that as Trump proceeded with, Kelly and Miller "turned their rage" against Tillerson, who tossed his arms up and countered that maybe he should quit issuing visas inside and out.

He branded Afghanistan, which had 2,500 of its citizens getting USA visa, a terrorist haven.

Clad in red trousers and a red apron sporting the Salvation Army logo, O'Mara was hard to miss with her bell and donation kettle, but it wasn't her attire people seemed to notice most.

The White House issued a swift denial of the comments on Saturday, calling the claims made by the Times "outrageous".

But as the debate progressed, Kelly and Stephen Miller, Trump's domestic policy adviser, reportedly began blaming Tillerson for the flood of foreigners.

Forty thousand of such were Nigerians.

He reportedly dismissed comments from then-Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly, now his chief of staff, and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson that numerous people who got visas were short-term visitors, rather than immigrants planning to stay permanently.

In a statement to The Times, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders denied the president used the words "AIDS" or "huts". On the illegal immigration front, the Trump administration has dramatically ramped up arrests, rescinded an Obama-era program shielding young immigrants from deportation, and commissioned prototypes for a US-Mexico border wall, despite Congress' unwillingness to approve full funding.
