Idaho the fastest-growing state by population, US Census Bureau estimates

Idaho is the fastest growing state in population according to figures released by the U.S. Census Dec. 20 2017

That is the largest decline in Wyoming since 1989 and well below neighboring states like Idaho, which saw the largest population increase in the nation previous year at 2.2 percent.

Texas added more people in the past year than any other state, according to new estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The U.S. Census says NY state's population bumped up slightly to 19.85 million.

New York's population count continued to benefit from new immigrants, though the state also continued to lose residents to other states. IL had the largest numeric decline, losing 33,703 people (a relatively small percentage change compared to its population of 12.8 million).

Pennsylvania, which saw a modest bounce it in its population over the a year ago, is now the fifth biggest state with a population of 12,805,537.

Harry Reid , a Nevada Democrat who was the Senate majority leader at the time , requested the funding for the programme. Known as the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP), the initiative was launched by the U.S.

Idaho at 2.2 percent was number one, followed by Nevada at 2 percent. In July, state lawmakers enacted Illinois' first budget since 2015 when lawmakers managed to override Rauner's veto of a budget plan that included a more than 30% tax hike.

The population of the United States was listed at more than 326.46 million, with a birth every 8 seconds and a death every 11 seconds. In 2017, 38.0 percent of the nation's population lived in the South and 23.8 percent lived in the West.

Population Estimates Branch Chief Luke Rogers says domestic migration is the main driver in Idaho's increase.

North Carolina added another 116,730 people in the a year ago - close to the entire population of Wilmington. It's a.72 percent growth nationwide. Wyoming, at about 579,000 people, is the least populous state. Be that as it may, the Census Bureau's populace gauges did not represent the storms in August and September that hit the Gulf states and Puerto Rico. By comparison, Idaho's population grew by 2.2 percent, and Missouri, by.4 percent. Net worldwide migration decreased 1.8 percent between 2016 and 2017, making it the first drop since 2012-2013.

Texas tallied the biggest numeric growth with its population increasing by almost 400,000 residents in 2017. And that was enough to overtake IL as the fifth-largest state in the country.
