Jackson hits back at 'insincere' Weinstein comments

Weinstein hits back at 'too powerful' Peter Jackson again

Following Jackson's apology, Oscar-winning actress Sorvino took to Twitter on Friday to reveal she "burst out crying" reading the filmmaker's words, noting he confirmed her fears "that Harvey Weinstein derailed my career".

The statement said that Judd was subsequently cast by Weinstein in two other movies - "Frida" and "Crossing Over".

Holly Baird, a spokeswoman for Harvey Weinstein, told USA Today on Saturday that the producer did not speak to Zwigoff about casting for "Bad Santa".

Ashley Judd is now onscreen in the second season of Berlin Station.

Per Priestley's version of events, the young actor was attending a Golden Globes party hosted by Miramax, the production company formerly run by Harvey and his brother Bob Weinstein, when things became heated and he was kicked out. Priestley himself even said that he doubts that his actions had an effect on his career, though he does mention that he's never worked for Miramax.

"However, many conversations occurred internally regarding potential casting".

Knicks won't have Kristaps Porzingis for Melo's return
After escaping Philadelphia with a triple overtime win Saturday, the Thunder flew to NY overnight to prepare for the Knicks. I want to win because we have a chance to sweep this road trip. "I think that change sometimes is hard ".

Harvey Weinstein, who recently denied Peter Jackson's allegations that he ran a smear campaign against actresses Sorvino and Ashley Judd, has not commented on this incident. Both Sorvino and Judd are two of no less than 50 ladies who has blamed the maker for rape and badgering.

Both actresses have claimed the media mogul sexually harassed them.

The statement, which was obtained by Entertainment Weekly, read: "Mr. Weinstein has nothing but the utmost respect for Peter Jackson".

"If Ashley Judd said she was in conversations with Mr. Jackson and reviewed sketches, it was under New Line, which had casting authority, not Miramax. Fran and I immediately remembered Miramax's negative reaction when we put their names forward, and we wondered if we had unwittingly been part of the alleged damage to their careers, at the hands of Miramax".

"We have no direct evidence linking Ashley and Mira's allegations to our Lord of the Rings casting conversations of 20 years ago - but we stand by what we were told by Miramax when we raised both of their names, and we are recounting it accurately". Jackson claims in a statement of his own that at the time he had no reason not to take Miramax at their word that the actors were hard to work with, and so he didn't consider them as the film moved forward.

And Ashley wrote: "Peter & Fran had me in - showed me all the creative, the boards, costumes, everything".
